Former architect/advert director/David Fincher protege Joseph Kosinski has been hired to direct a remake of Logan’s Run. The script is to be written by Tim Sexton, who was nominated for an Oscar for Children of Men, and the film is expected to look more like the 1967 novel than the 1976 Michael York film.- Before remaking his own King of Kong as a feature for New Line, Seth Gordon will direct Four Christmases, a Vince Vaughn/Reese Witherspoon comedy that the studio is rushing into production in order to secure a December 2008 tentpole in case of a strike.
- Sony Pictures Classics has bought a documentary about Jimmy Carter, titled Jimmy Carter: Man From Plains, and directed by Jonathan Demme. The film, which was produced by Jeff Skoll’s Participant Productions, will open at the Venice Film Festival before screening at Toronto.
