that's interesting b/c i see it first and foremost as a condemnation of hipster culture (and therefore every bit as relevant today), and about people w/o even internal frustrations. they're just empty - every gesture or act (buying the worthless propeller, fighting for the guitar neck and then throwing it away, intently playing imaginary tennis) is meaningless and their lives are totally style devoid of any substance.
