I’d love to get a live blog from Robert Rodriguez. He’s the true talent. Instead of QT, we ought to learn a lot from him, because he is not selfish. And certainly not self-praising like QT. I love QT and his movies but he’s making a prick of himself. I liked Death Proof, but his weakness is showing and I’m looking forward to Inglorious Bastards. Sure, Rodriguez is not a great filmmaker, but he’s made his way up on his own independently while giving all the tips to other aspiring filmmakers. So, we ought to have a liveblog from him. And it’s just me saying.

Oscars seem to do strange things to directors once they win them. James Cameron won the Oscar for “Titanic” ten years ago and hasn’t made a movie since.

Tarantino won the Oscar for the screenplay of “Pulp Fiction” and it was too much, too soon for him. Once Quentin won the Oscar, it seemed to kill his ambition and he got a bit lazy. He also seemed to have run out of ideas for movies by that stage.

Everyone would love to see another Tarantino flick as good as “Pulp Fiction” again, but I think Quentin’s happy to just pop out the odd, average movie and enjoy all the cash he’s made. What a shame.

Terrific job capturing the talk! Tarantino may strike some people as arrogant and self-glorifying, but he is certainly no Uwe Boll. He’s earned his right.

Surprisingly, he was in Manila a couple of years ago and he blew people away when his humility (!) matched his candor.

He has done it, folks! Tarantino is the undisputed King of Pretention! The question is now, how long can he ride his own narcissistic coatails? Isn’t it time to ask ourselves in retrospect, how good was this guy in the first place? Outrageous yes, but truly a great film-maker…hhmmm.

He’s already equaled and surpassed PULP FICTION — JACKIE BROWN is an incredibly underrated movie.

And he’s certainly right about film school…I went to film school, and all I got out of it was enormous debt. It’s the most idiotic move an aspiring filmmaker can make. Waste of time, waste of money, and any connections you might develop aren’t nearly as valuable as the experience you get simply making a film on your own.

Love Tarantino, but think back when Dogs came out or Pulp first came to Cannes. Did any of us think this is how his career would turn out? Didn’t we all see him becoming prolific and great? He had a future so bright it was blinding. WTF happenned?
