The Dark Knight was a great movie.....to sleep through.....Once again the hype never lives up to the real thing. All of these people saying it was so good. It really wasn't. Very uneven throughout. The transitions were choppy and the special effects looked like....well special effects. They should pull you into the movie and make you think they are real. They didn't. It was like watch this... Heath Ledger was okay, but certainly not worthy of an Oscar nomination. This movie was a big disappointment. It was way too predictable. If you need a good nap, then this is the movie for you, because it certainly did not have much to keep you awake. Scale of 1-10 this movie gets a weak 5

Val Kilmer would have made an interesting Harvey Dent come to think of it; serious demure yet ever so slightly unhinged. The only vital part that I guess would be missing is anger and the propensity to do evil.

Val Kilmer would never do wrong. Ever.

I asked a guy in my office today if he was planning on seeing it this weekend and he had no idea what I was talking about. I was quite shocked, but obviously I couldn't show it for fear of seeming like a total asshole.

The Dark Knight...

All the while it’s gleefully rubbing its hands together, extracting demented pleasure out of the yarn it’s spinning…

How about, "We hate big noisy opening-weekend crowds"? I used to love sold-out movies and sometimes I still do (like if they're at Alamo Drafthouse), but for most movies these days, I'd rather just wait a week or two until the audience is smaller and potentially less disruptive. And then we don't have to get there so early and sit through all the dumb loud commercials, either.

Damn, I'm turning into such an old fart.

Don't forget that the movie blogosphere is an insulated place. I was shocked to learn that my 28 year old brother who is more into sports than films honestly had never heard of The Dark Knight.
