The characters are abhorrent but I get caught up in watching them too. I think it's similar to why we read tabloids. We're removed of them and their behavior and yet we can't believe a person would go to such lengths. I saw Less Than Zero a few weeks ago and it showed its age. American Psycho is a great horror film. Rules of Attraction just chills me to the bone. I hear you. The characters are abhorrent but I get caught up in watching them too.
