Yeah, misterfilmgeek, I was wondering when someone was going to bring up Return of the Killer Tomatoes, which I didn't remember until after the list was posted. Of course, like me, most moviegoers would trace the ironic product placement thing more to Wayne's World, as it received far more exposure.

The best by far (and the movie that Wayne's World stole the idea from) is Return of the Killer Tomatoes. It's worth renting just for the long running product placement gags, and the line, "Goober?" And of course, a very young George Clooney.

Is Minority Report predicting the future, or is it showing us that all these ads are already embedded in our heads? I would rather have them as the outside annoyance they portray than to have them stuck in our minds where we cant shut them up.....

National Treasure is a really good one too... there is one pointless shot where a carefully-arranged three tier shot of Dasani or Aquafina waterbottles--all perfectly aligned with their labels out and toward the camera is enough to make me nauseous... along with (as best I can remember): HP, Mercedes, Urban Outfitters and Pepsi-Cola.
