I'm guessing Karina Longworth said that Tracy Morgan's acceptance speech doesn't really require comment because she, too, has absolutely no idea what he meant about Cate Blanchett, but prefers not to let on.

Wow - you really love the fact that Kate Winslet forgot some of the eight names she had to remember, all flustered, crying and blubbering as she was - and the fact that it was Jolie, oh yesss....I too get so happy when I misperceive banal happenings no one should be reading anything in to, for b*tchy snubs to famous people, especially the ones who waste all of their time giving millions of way and saving lives all over the world with their philanthropy. Thank you nyt, for going after the humanitarians of the world, and actresses with talent, who are actually very good people. Somewhere the next hitler, dick cheney, or madoff is out there having a grand old time, knowing you'll be keeping yourselves quite busy obsessing over philanthropically inclined Oscar winners. Go Karina!

Rourke to Tomei during the sound drop out. Need to know basis is running very high. Anyone know? It's at the :42 mark (the counter runs backwards, it's time remaining, not time into the clip).

You can also see the flip.

Where's the love for Ricky Gervais? His presentation was totally inappropriate and wonderful. Still, a nice list. I was waiting for Winslet to divorce Mendes on the spot and shack up with Leo on stage. Would've made for a more interesting telecast, but I suppose it was better than normal.

How about Sacha Baron Cohen's joke about Madonna firing one of her personal assistents (Guy Ritchie), which drew sort-of-boos from a few people?

Your Sally Hawkins write up is great, and my personal #1 favorite comment about last night's ceremony that someone has made so far.

ps. Was Tracy Morgan high or something? Even when they interviewed his at E!'s red carpet, there was something horrible going on with him.

ps2. How unbelievably handsome is Darren Aronofsky? I hadn't noticed until last night. Oh, and the I believe he gave Mickey Rourke the finger just after he called him a "son of a bitch". It was refreshing seeing something like that happen in a post-nipplegate (or whatever they called Janet's boob incident at the football thing) live broadcast.

The finger by Aranonfsky was great. Someone at nbc definitely lost their jobb last night for that one as well as nbc receiving a nice hefty fine from the fcc im sure.
Mickey Rourke is the man!!!

I was thrilled with half of the wins and either completely confused or upset at the other half. But the speeches were very entertaining.

Aww... sadly we missed the Aronofsky finger out here on the West Coast... instead we were treated to a black out for about 5 seconds. Damn Janet & Justin had to ruin it for everyone...

I will say this Golden Globes didn't get as much fast-forward from my TIVO (I hardly watch anything live anymore) and I will say it was ALOT more entertaining than last years show......
