Thanks for the review. It is rare to have a movie feature as the lead a "young lady" (and twenties is young and I have no doubt she is a lady) where the actress doesn't exist in the movie to settle a man, to bag a man, and is allowed to have personality quirks and imperfections. When do you get to see this reality and depth of real life meeting the road of a real dimensional character? (unlike Knocked Up or, well, any movie with young actresses). Young ladies are supposed to have it all together and are allowed to be messy only to the degree that they can have a squealfest with other female characters over shoes, a man, a wedding venue....

"...writer/director Russo-Young and co-writer/star Stella Schnabel remind us how rare it is to see a film about the inner life of a beautiful, troubled young lady without the objectifying filter of the male gaze, without the beauty and the trouble fusing into a fantasy cipher of a postmodern damsel in distress."

your stance in this paragraph might not be quite so hilarious if a] the cinematographer of this film weren't male, and b] you didn't use condescending characterizations like "young lady"....
