I am listening to your current podcast #105 and thinking WTF?

I understand what you are saying about the lack of value of MBV 3D. Sure it is an exploitive piece of crap. There is extensive nudity, an exploitive death of a small person. There is not any real "film" value in this at all when viewed in the lense of film criticism.

But

This is not a film and should not be reviewed as one. This is a "slasher movie" designed to steal some money from the public. What you are doing is comparing it to a great film "The Descent" on film terms.
This is the same as a theater critic going to a middle school play and critiquing it on professional terms.

I am sure the makers of MBV 3D do not compare it to the descent. They may be comparing it to "Fiday the 13th" but that is a genre movie too. That is what we need to do also. Compared to other slasher movies where does it stand.

The horror genre unfortunately is still seen as an all encompassing grouping when in fact has splintered into many different unique subcategories. We who watch alot of horror really do separate into expectations for the subcategories before reviewing the movie.

I also disagree about the 3D effects, the new system was just excellent. Clear and effective.
