Short shrift to the 5 eco docs in one competish or another. The dog was “Dirt! The Movie.” Witty and without a bit of snark, Charles Clover recounted his decidedly un-green Sundance adventure and declared, “There is a documentary called Dirt! The Movie about soil, which was unwatchable.”

Oh, and the reviews, all two of them (Wells and Howell don’t count, because they don’t attempt the minimum necessary effort) — Daniel Fienberg digs in by mentioning, “No movie I’ve attended at this year’s Festival has had more early walk-outs and I can’t say I necessarily blame them.” (be patient with the link, it’s a beta site) and the other review opens with a writerly reassurance that, “Those who read this blog know that I tend to shy away from talking about films if I don’t like them.”
