The Telegraph is reporting––two months late, oddly, but I never heard about it so I guess I can’t point fingers––on an over-the-top Star Wars themed wedding, wherein 70+ guests arrived dressed as various members of the Lucasian universe. The whole thing took nine months to plan, the ceremony was performed by Yoda, and the ring bearer was dressed as Slave Leia (don’t get too excited–based on photo evidence, she was a good twenty years older than the average ring bearer).

Blah blah blah, right? Well, I’m a total Star Wars non-believer, but after reading the Telegraph story, I stumbled on the Flickr feed for the wedding, and even I have to admit that it’s pretty impressive. There are TWELVE HUNDRED PHOTOS documenting the ceremony, the costumes, the make-up touch ups, the lightsaber battles at the reception, etc. If you’re going to get married, you might as well do it with a gimmick, and if you’re going to have a gimmick, theres something sort of admirable about such batshit insane commitment to said gimmick.
