Obama’s Win to End Hollywood Stereotyping? Trade Roughage 11/05/08

Barack Obama is the next President of the United States of America.
And yes, that means a happy-faced Harvey Weinstein on the front page of Variety this morning.
But what other ties to film does this news warrant? Well, Obama’s win will apparently help the relationship between Hollywood and D.C., according to The Hollywood Reporter. Something about “breaking free of long-held stereotypes” in pop culture. Hmm, doubtful.
If it took a long time for you to vote yesterday, and/or if you were surprised to see your name not in the registry, lefty actor Tim Robbins feels your pain. Variety has his conspiracy theory-worthy election day story.
From what I know about Boondock Saints fans, they are definitely more excited that Troy Duffy has begun shooting The Boondock Saints II than they are about any presidential election. I’m only in that boat if there’s any hope for an Overnight sequel to go with it.
